Sago (Metroxylon sp.) is a tropical wet palm plant, which has strong adaptation to grow on marginal lands. one of the potential food commodities as source carbohydrates owned by Indonesia. The objectives this study were: identify factors that are strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats sago commodity development; determine strategy for development. This research was conducted in Districts Bondoala, Besulutu, Sampara Kapoiala, Konawe Regency. respondents were relevant government agencies staf Regency Southeast Sulawesi Province, researchers from AIAT Development Agency lecturers at UHO Faculty Agriculture, collectors inter-island traders. analytical method used SWOT-AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) analysis. results revealed developing commodities, had highest priority value or most important ones, development human resources farmers small medium industries (IKM); strengthening coordination synchronization policies between institutions sago; policy expansion protection land; optimization market share; diversification products; increasing competitiveness processed products through adoption production technology; modernization equipment processing strengthen added value; forming partnerships both capital.Keywords: strategy; SWOT-AHP;
